sportsman show
David took the boys to the sportsman show last week. they had a blast. they got to fish (caught five!)and walk around and look at animals and all the cool hunting stuff. each of the boys got a giant face painting. both had smeared before I got a good picture, but you can get the idea!

HFCS - High Fructose Corn Syrup
In case you weren’t aware, the number one source of calories in the United States is high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS). The average American consumes about 12 teaspoons of it every day, though as the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy (IATP) pointed out, teens and other “high consumers” may consume 80 percent more than that.Now it turns out that this widespread sweetener is contaminated with the toxic heavy metal mercury! The samples were found to contain levels of mercury ranging from below a detection limit of 0.005 to 0.570 micrograms mercury per gram of HFCS. And this was from samples of popular name-brand foods and beverages, including some made by Quaker, Hershey’s, Kraft and Smucker’s.
How Does Mercury Get Into Corn Syrup?
Although the makers of HFCS like to claim that it’s natural, it’s actually a highly refined product that would never exist in nature. Its manufacture involves an extensive process, one step of which is to separate corn starch from the corn kernel. Caustic soda is used, among other things, to do this, and for decades mercury-grade caustic soda produced in industrial chlorine (chlor-alkali) plants has been used for this purpose. Because mercury cells are used to produce some caustic soda, the caustic soda may become contaminated, and ultimately transfer that mercury contamination to the HFCS in your soda, salad dressing, soup, cereal, and so on. Said IATP’s David Wallinga, M.D., a co-author of both studies:
“Mercury is toxic in all its forms. Given how much high fructose corn syrup is consumed by children, it could be a significant additional source of mercury never before considered. We are calling for immediate changes by industry and the FDA to help stop this avoidable mercury contamination of the food supply.”Isn’t it ironic that the Corn Refiners Association just recently spent around $30 million on an ad campaign designed to rehabilitate HFCS’s reputation as an unhealthy sweetener? It’s going to take a lot more than a few TV commercials to explain away this latest revelation.

yesterday was the day! wow my baby is ONE! Isabel we have enjoyed you in your first year so much! you have brought so much joy and little girl sweetness to our house. the boys just adore you and we are all so excited to watch you grow. You are one of the kids that has a sparkle to your eyes and a sweet heart. we are so thankful for you and will do our best to raise you according to Gods plan for your life. we love you TINY SWEETIE!~ your family~

I got my camera back!
I am so excited! I got my digital cannon back. I bought it in June just before we took a vacation to Colorado. then in July the screen quite working and with my camera if ya don't have the screen then you can't so much! well I sent it in to the maker and they sent it back all fixed and back to new! wow I couldn't be more pleased. I didn't have to pay a dime. they sent me the shipping label and all I had to do was package it up good and off it went! ten days later I have it back all fixed!!! yayaya I was so nervous because the camera was a huge and expensive purchase and Costco would not help me when I had a problem. they thought i dropped it and I had not. so lesson learned is talk to the Manufacturer they will work with you and will make the warranty good! here's a few pictures from today!

the way things are...
well we got breathed on by someone sick! now the kids are coming down with something! darn...
I mean I guess I would expect to be sick more if we were out and about a lot, but we only all go out together on Sundays. the two little one's basically stay home at all other times. they are either napping or to it's an activity only for Colton (like violin or swimming- not something we can all go to). bummer now the two little ones are coughing and both sound horse. hopefully that is all that they come down with. well it's time to bundle up and go outside to get our dose of Vitamin D from the sun.
I guess now I will be forced to get the house ready to sell instead of having company over this weekend:( oh well it's something I was just putting off by staying to busy to do it!

well I have been home alone to much and too busy to keep up my blog the last couple weeks! the kiddos are doing good and keeping me hoppin'. I also have a broken camera that is off at Cannon getting fixed, soon I hope! so no pictures either.. so I guess I will post somthing health related-
Breast cancer is the second most deadly form of cancer for women in the U.S. Only lung cancer claims more women’s lives than breast cancer.
According to Cancer.org’s latest report, Breast Cancer Facts & Figures 2007-2008, 2007 ushered in more than 178,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer, and more than 40,000 women died from the disease.
But men are by no means immune to breast cancer. Just over 2,000 men were diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007, and approximately 450 men died. Since routine screening for men is next to nonexistent, men are more likely to be diagnosed with advanced disease, and therefore have poorer chances for survival.
Unfortunately, conventional medicine is stubbornly holding on to outmoded ideas of cancer detection and treatment, no matter how ineffective it’s been proven to be.
Mammography is a perfect example of this stubborn head-in-the-sand approach to cancer screening.
Education and awareness of better, less risky and more effective options for detecting breast cancer are woefully deficient, but they do exist, and it is my hope you will take the time to review this important information, whether you’re a man or a woman, and forward it widely to your family and friends.
The Case Against Mammography
Health officials recommend that all women over 40 get a mammogram every one to two years, yet there is no solid evidence that mammograms save lives, and the benefits of mammograms are controversial at best.
Meanwhile, the health hazards of mammography have been well established.
John Gofman, M.D., Ph.D. – a nuclear physicist and a medical doctor, and one of the leading experts in the world on the dangers of radiation – presents compelling evidence in his book, Radiation from Medical Procedures in the Pathogenesis of Cancer and Ischemic Heart Disease, that over 50 percent of the death-rate from cancer is in fact induced by x-rays.
Now consider the fact that the routine practice of taking four films of each breast annually results in approximately 1 rad (radiation absorbed dose) exposure, which is about 1,000 times greater than that from a chest x-ray.
Even the American Cancer Society lists high-dose radiation to the chest as a medium to high risk factor for developing cancer.
Thermographic Breast Screening – A Safer, More Effective Alternative
Most physicians continue to recommend mammograms for fear of being sued by a woman who develops breast cancer after he did not advise her to get one. But I encourage you to think for yourself and consider safer, more effective alternatives to mammograms.The option for breast screening that I most highly recommend is called thermographic breast screening.
Thermographic screening is brilliantly simple. It measures the radiation of infrared heat from your body and translates this information into anatomical images. Your normal blood circulation is under the control of your autonomic nervous system, which governs your body functions.Thermography uses no mechanical pressure or ionizing radiation, and can detect signs of breast cancer as much as 10 years earlier than either mammography or a physical exam!
Whereas mammography cannot detect a tumor until after it has been growing for years and reaches a certain size, thermography is able to detect the possibility of breast cancer much earlier.
It can even detect the potential for cancer before any tumors have formed because it can image the early stages of angiogenesis -- the formation of a direct supply of blood to cancer cells, which is a necessary step before they can grow into tumors of size.
More men’s lives could also be spared from the disease as mammography is not frequently used on men, which leads to most men with breast cancer being diagnosed at a very late stage.
